  ARION gets ROYALTY from VIDEOCON, India

ARION Technology (www.arion.co.kr), a Korean world-leading digital set-top box manufacturer, today announced that it gets royalty from VIDEOCON, the India¡¯s biggest consumer electronics company, from the second half of this year.
VIDEOCON is recently announced they would make a foray into DTH service industry and develops its first set-top box in cooperation with a consortium consisted of qualified technology providers.
VIDEOCON¡¯s first set-top box is a MPEG-4 digital satellite receiver with built-in IRDETO CAS system and Idway-J middleware. ARION has participated in this project as one of the consortium members and provided their experienced HW and SW solutions to VIDEOCON. ARION¡¯s sales director said ARION will be able to secure stable incomes from royalty on VIDEOCON¡¯s set-top box sales in India market.
VIDEOCON will start their  DTH service in August targeting an aggressive launch in the fast growing Indian market .  ARION expects its royalty profits will be more than 2 million dollars.
Established in 1979, VIDEOCON has been the India¡¯s biggest consumer electronics company and it records more than 2 billion dollar sales every year through their wide distribution channels. VIDEOCON recently gained distinction among Koreans by taking over France¡¯s Thomson CRT  division and attempted bid for Daewoo Electronics.
